Adult Day

What is Adult Day?

Adult Day Services for special needs, particularly those with Developmental Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for both individuals and their families.  Our program provides a safe, nurturing environment where adults with autism can engage in meaningful activities, develop essential life skills and build social connections.

Day Programs serve as a bridge to greater independence and community integration, fostering a sense of purpose and belonging that is essential for overall well-being.

Services include:

  • Structured daily activities and routines
  • Social skills training and group interactions
  • Life skills development (i.e., personal hygiene, meal preparation, etc.)
  • Cognitive stimulation and educational activities
  • Physical exercise and recreational activities
  • Therapeutic Interventions (i.e., communication support, music, art, sensory support, etc.)

Our specialized day program addresses the unique needs of individuals with Autism and related disorders by providing:

  • Autism-specific interventions and support strategies
  • Sensory-friendly environment
  • Highly trained staff with expertise in adult autism
  • Individualized care plans tailored to each participant's strengths and challenges
  • Opportunities for skill generalization and community integration

Structured activities and routines form the backbone of most Day Programs for adults with special needs.  This predictability helps reduce anxiety and provides a sense of security for our participants.  Typical daily schedules may include:

  • Morning check-in and goal-setting
  • Group activities and social skills practice opportunities
  • Life skills training (i.e. cooking, household tasks, personal care)
  • Therapeutic Interventions
  • Structured group discussions and social skills training
  • Team-building exercises and cooperative projects
